Fiji Airways upgrades Meals in Entire Fleet to Offer Fijian-Inspired Catering Options
If you are going to Fiji and wondering if the food on the flight is up to par, Fiji Airways has made changes that should suit your tastes.
Fiji Airways, Fiji’s national airline, has announced a suite of changes that will greatly enhance passenger inflight accommodations and allow travelers to begin their Fijian experience prior to arriving at their final destination. Officially taking effect on September 1, 2014, new inflight dining, a new inflight magazine, and upgraded inflight duty free sales services will be rolled out in the upcoming months.
- The Signature Dish –Fiji Airways has unveiled an overhaul of its “Fijian Style” catering across Economy and Business class. New for Business Class passengers, the Signature Dish menu offers a choice of hot meals inspired by renowned Fijian culinary expert and executive chef of Castaway Island Resort, Chef Lance Seeto, in collaboration with other Fijian chefs. A Signature Welcome Cocktail and mocktail will also be introduced in partnership with Fiji Rum, along with an hors d’oeuvre service and specially selected wines. Members of the Fiji Chefs Association have been invited to work with the airline on future menu cycles to ensure that the food served onboard continues to be Fijian inspired.
- Fiji Airways also completely overhauled its box-presented “Fijian-Style” Economy Class meals and will instead provide tray service with hot meals. Economy class passengers on long haul flights to/from Los Angeles and Hong Kong will receive two hot meals; medium haul services (Fiji – Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific) will receive one hot meal; and those on short trips will receive substantial, high quality snacks.
